Glimpse into the life of Bratislava church
June 30th, 2007 by RomanThe church is being more and more active in its life here in Bratislava. We are very happy about it. Here is a small glimpse into our life (some of the things we did this week).
On Tuesday some of us went to help Jaro and Ana, an elderly couple from the church, in their garden. This was a good opportunity not only to help but also to have some good time building relationships. Here is one picture for illustration. Rado and Andrej picking red currants:

On Thursday morning Miriam and Roman finished the survey among the University students. (As I said to some of you while in the States, this was a survey about young people’s needs, goals, struggles and beliefs.) This time we interviewed 24 students from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Information Science and Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Altogether we did 57 interviews. About 15 of them were more interested in what we do and why we do it. So we shared some contact information with them and hope to see some of them in the future. Since most of the schools are over, this was our last survey. Here’s the picture of our survey sheets:

On Sunday afternoon most of our young people plan to go to an assisted care center for old people. We plan to sing a couple of songs and share some Bible message with them.
There is lots of excitement in our group right now. We see God working among us and through us and we are enjoying it. We are hoping and praying that more and more people will come to know God through our influence. We understand that it is a great privilege as well as responsibility to be called God’s children. It is through us, His children, that the world around us can see and receive God’s generosity, love and kindness. “Because as He is, so also are we in this world.” (1 John 4:17)
